Fear Not 220

Good morning, dear friends, and welcome to this new day on September 2, 2026. As the first light filters through our windows, I want to share a word of encouragement drawn from the depths of an ancient story that still speaks to our hearts today. The verse for our reflection is Jonah 2:10: "And the Lord spoke to the fish: and it vomited out Jonas upon the dry land." Jonah had been swallowed by a great fish after fleeing from his calling, trapped in darkness and despair for three days. Yet even there, in the belly of the beast, he cried out to God, and the Lord heard him. With one divine command, the fish released him safely onto dry ground, a place of fresh air, solid footing, and new beginnings. Many of us wake up feeling a bit like Jonah—overwhelmed by circumstances that seem to have swallowed us whole. Perhaps it is ongoing worries about health, family tensions, or the steady pressure of daily responsibilities that leave us wondering if we will ever find solid ground again. In a world still navigating economic uncertainties, global tensions, and personal heartaches, it is easy to feel confined in a space where hope feels distant. But this verse gently reminds us that no situation is too deep for God to reach. Just as the Lord spoke directly to the fish, He can speak into our lives and command release from whatever holds us. It may not happen in an instant, but each morning brings the promise that deliverance is possible. Maybe today you are facing a decision that feels impossible or carrying a burden that has weighed you down for weeks. Take heart: the same God who parted the waters and commanded the fish is still at work, guiding us toward dry land where we can breathe freely once more. Let this be a morning to release fear and trust in that quiet, powerful voice. Step forward with hope, knowing that what feels like an ending can become the very moment God opens a new path.
