Verse #146 of 220

Dear friends in faith, On this day, June 7, 2026, as the world continues to spin with its mix of joys and trials, I turn to a powerful verse that speaks directly to our hearts. 'Only be strong and very courageous... do not turn from it...' from Joshua 1:7. These words were spoken to Joshua as he prepared to lead the people into the promised land, facing unknown territories and formidable challenges. How relevant they are for us today! In our daily lives, we encounter situations that test our resolve. Maybe it's the economic pressures affecting families, or the rapid changes in society that leave us feeling uncertain about the future. Current events, from international relations to local community issues, can make us question our path. Yet, God calls us not to turn away but to stand firm in His truth and love. Being courageous in real life means showing up for our families even when tired, advocating for justice in small ways, or maintaining hope amid health concerns or personal losses. It means not letting fear dictate our actions but allowing faith to guide them. As Catholics, we draw from the rich tradition of the Church, finding courage in the rosary, in Mass, and in the examples of holy men and women who went before us. Let's reflect on how this applies to our modern context. In 2026, with ongoing discussions about artificial intelligence and its impact on jobs and ethics, we need courage to engage thoughtfully as people of faith. Similarly, caring for creation as stewards of God's earth requires bold yet compassionate action. In our personal spheres, perhaps forgiving someone who has hurt us or stepping out in service despite feeling inadequate. The verse emphasizes not turning from 'it' – the law, God's word. So, immersing ourselves in Scripture and the teachings of the Church provides the foundation for courage. It's not about our own power but relying on the Holy Spirit. Friends, take heart. Each day is an opportunity to live this out. Start with prayer, end with gratitude, and in between, act with the strength God provides. You are not alone in this journey. Hope is alive, and with it, courage flourishes. #FearNot220 #146of220 #Catholic
