Verse #133 of 220
Dear friends in faith and hope,
As we gather in spirit on this June 2, 2026, for our daily reflection, the words from Acts 18:9 resonate deeply: 'Do not be afraid. Go on speaking...' These are the Lord's words to Paul, encouraging him to continue his mission despite the obstacles and fears that surrounded him.
In our current times, we face many situations that can make us hesitant. Economic uncertainties weigh on families, with rising costs affecting daily life and job security. Social media amplifies divisions, making it scary to speak out with compassion or truth amid heated debates. Personal struggles with mental health, loneliness, or doubts about the future can silence our voices of encouragement to others, whether at home or in our communities.
Yet, just as Paul was assured, we too are reminded that we are not alone. God calls us to go on speaking – speaking words of love to our children facing peer pressure, sharing stories of faith with colleagues at work navigating stress, or advocating for peace in a world that often feels chaotic with news of conflicts and environmental challenges. Your gentle voice can bring comfort to someone feeling isolated or overwhelmed right now.
This verse is an invitation to courage. It doesn't mean we won't feel afraid; it means we move forward anyway, trusting in divine support. For those dealing with health issues or family conflicts, remember that your voice matters deeply. Your testimony of hope can light the way for someone else walking a similar path.
As we live out our Catholic faith, let's embrace this call. Pray for the strength to speak gently but boldly in love. The Lord is near, guiding our conversations and our hearts toward healing and connection.
May this encouragement fill your day with warmth and purpose. You are capable, loved, and equipped to share light in the darkness.
